'Concerten voor verdraagzaamheid' also in Brussels and Ghent

Postby zeef on Wed 14 Jun, 2006 11:47

Today it's on the VRT-website that the concert of Tom Barman against the Vlaams Belang politic party will not only go on in Antwerp, but also in Ghent and Brussels.

Tom Barman and Arno will promote these concerts on the summerfestivals.

Other artists that help with this project are Zap Mama, Adamo, Tom Lanoye, Luc Thuymans, etc. Many others will follow, i guess.

I think this initiative is on the right moment (after the Antwerpmurders and the mp3murder). I hope there will be sooo much people, just to give a sign to the Vlaams Belang and other rascistic organisations. But also a sign to the people of Belgium, the immigrants and all the people of Europe.

(I knew the news much longer and i guess it's gonna be a great day!)

When will it be in Brussels?

Good nieuws anyway. Hope there will be people here. Tom is not so popular in wallonia (ok, I don't enter into a discussion abiout the fact that brussels is - or would be - flemish or not)

I hope they don't change the location, they should really try and keep it on Sint-Jansplein, i think it's the perfect place for a thing like that, you have all sorts of people there in the neighbourhood, open-minded atmosphere and it just 'breathes' multiculturality. Wouldn't like it if it's in the 'hip' South or something, then it would attract just the usual audience, although i don't think there's place anyway.

anyway, still more than 3 months away... *waiting in excitement*

Sint Jans Plein will be too small. They haven't gotten permission yet.
The meadows at sint anna would be an alternative. This is going to draw a lot of people. Not to mention the 'hollanders',, a free concert ;)
A 'Schepen' in town is a friend, he'll keep me informed.

For the people who didn't understand, he means a member of the local council.

unfortunately there is 'de gedempte zuiderdokken' in the South where is much more place but I think st jansplein would be better

Big interview Tom Barman & Luc Tuymans in 'De Morgen'

Postby neeltje on Sun 18 Jun, 2006 10:11

There is a big interview (2 pages) with Tom & Luc in this weekend's De Morgen... They talk more about art than about the concerts, but it's interesting...
