I am going too and I have a little practical question: is it possible to get there with public transport? Take the train till Brussels and then bus or tram? And will there be a train late enough to get back? Thanks a lot in advance, I am so looking forward to it, counting the days

First time I saw dEUS since the "small club" tour in Belgium, with the Liège concert being good (excellent atmosphere) but somewhat lacking on the setlist side.

This was very different: I didn't plan to see dEUS again this year, until, rather unexpectedly, they started adding old, relatively obscure songs. When I found out about the Paris setlist, I bought tickets for tonight's gig instantly.

It felt so right to hear Everybody's Weird and Let's See Who Goes Down First after all those years. The reason I rank TIC above all their other albums is for that perfect trilogy (with DS#1) at the end of the album. Just for that, it was worth it. You couldn't hear the bass in that huge box of a venue, but hey.... I was very happy.

As for the rest, the end of the main set was too good for words: Instant Street, Morticiachair, Suds & Soda --- bang! Instant Street seemed to go on and on forever, and Rudy Trouvé should be very proud of Mauro's rendition of his old song.

So far so good, but the encore almost ruined it for me: they played Eternal Woman (it's not a bad song, just very boring), then Little Arithmetics and then they STOPPED THE SONG WHEN IT WAS GOING TO EXPLODE. No outro. No noise. And they thought it was a good idea to put Oh Your God right after that, and the transition made it so painfully obvious that Oh Your God is not a great song, but one that relies heavily on its loudness. Ah well.

Serpentine and Roses to end the night... Almost perfect, then.

For me, it wasn't the best gig I saw from them. Still awesome, though.
The old songs were so good, hearing "Let's see who goes down first" and "Serpentine" (for the first time, for me, never had the luck before) was really a dream coming true :)
Now let's hope for some new material very soon!

The same for me, I liked the gig at Het Depot more, but that's probably due to the place itself. The audience in general seemed to be quite lame and older than I thought it would be (I think I was one of the youngest with my 19 years), but where I stood (at the front, of course 8) ) everybody was dancing. I especially liked the older songs which I had never heared before. GREAT Morticiachair and Everybody's Weird and indeed, strange and such a pity that they didn't play the noisy end of Little Arithmetics. Also great versions of Instant Street and Serpentine. I really had a great night and hope they will plan some gigs soon so I have something to look forward to during these nasty January exams. Go boys!!

Bart wrote:It's also strange to see that the audience will only go crazy on the oldies. Ok, it wasn't a very young audience, but reaction on The Architect was very lame.

Oh, the reaction to Bad Timing was very loud where I was (bang in the middle of the pit), and that's not an oldie. I loved the reaction to Roses at the end, where everyone finally stood up!

Anyway, I think it's rather normal that people would react more to the band's classics from the 90's. It's probably safe to say that the vast majority of people in the audience (late 20's / mid 30's) didn't discover dEUS through Pocket Revolution or Vantage Point: they fell in love with the band when they released their first records, not because they heard The Architect on StuBru.

The same goes for most bands who've been around for some time: go to a Radiohead show, you'll always get more cheers for The Bends or OK Computer songs than for any other material they've published, however brilliant. It's just normal.
